Jaffa..the bride of palestine....!
Jaffa, a city of crumbling sandstone that arises from the waves on rocks and shifting dunes, a city continually being destroyed and rebuilt, is my home town.
Jaffa is a city in flux. Night breezes from distant orange groves are replaced during the day by a west wind that wears away at the houses and their inhabitants, generation after generation.
These pictures of Jaffa are a kind of imaginary town plan, meant to arrest the deterioration and preserve a dream of the city at its best.
